Queen of Sheba was a Believer
Queen of Sheba Came to visit King Solomon after hearing of his great wisdom, which left her greatly impressed by his power and wisdom. She brought many gifts, and tested Solomon with many riddles. She was duly impressed with his responses–as well as his palace and the Temple he had built. We find these refrences in I Kings 10 and 2 Chronicles 9.
Noah’s son Ham had a descendant named Sheba, then Abraham had a grandson named Sheba from his wife Keturah. In comparison, Abraham is from the family of Shem (Ham’s Brother). But when we study the reference in 2 Chronicles 9 it clearly mentions that Sheba Queen belongs to Arabs. In Genesis 25, from Keturah, Abraham had 6 sons Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah, 1 son from Hagar Ishmael, and 1 Promised son from his first wife Sarah Isaac. His 7 sons stayed in Arab, among the generation of Ham.
“Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan; the descendants of Dedan were the Ashurites, the Letushites and the Leummites. The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanok, Abida and Eldaah. All these were descendants of Keturah.” (Genesis 25:3-4) “This is the account of the family line of Abraham’s son Ishmael, whom Sarah’s slave, Hagar the Egyptian, bore to Abraham. These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, listed in the order of their birth: Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah. These were the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of the twelve tribal rulers according to their settlements and camps. Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people. His descendants settled in the area from Havilah to Shur, near the eastern border of Egypt, as you go toward Ashur. And they lived in hostility toward all the tribes related to them.” (Genesis 25:12-18)
These refrences clearly shows that the generation of Abraham from Hagar and Keturah lived among Ham. Therefore, they put the same name, as Sheba from Ham descendants and from Abraham. The generation of Sheba is from southwestern Arabia or Presently Yemen or Ethiopia. The Queen of the South is generally thought to be from Ethiopia, or the Queen of Sheba (1 Kings 10).
We will go back to the previous refernce when Queen of Sheba visit King Solomon, in 2 Chronicles 9 verse 12-14 “King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for; he gave her more than she had brought to him. Then she left and returned with her retinue to her own country. The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents, not including the revenues brought in by merchants and traders. Also all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the territories brought gold and silver to Solomon.”
So, the other kings of Arabia send offerings and gifts to King Solomon, King of Israel. The words Queen of Sheba used, shows she has a lot of knowledge, that Bible tells that she visit King Solomon to test him with her questions and she was amazed how King Solomon answered her. Bible also shows she has the knowledge of Torah and she believed in the God of Israel. She has prophetic knowledge about Messianic Era.
“Praise be to the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on his throne as king to rule for the Lord your God. Because of the love of your God for Israel and his desire to uphold them forever, he has made you king over them, to maintain justice and righteousness.” 2 Chronicles 9:8
She Praised GOD YHWH, She knew that Messiah would be from the generation of Judah, and HE would sit for eternity on the throne of King David. Therefore she said that THE LORD placed you on “HIS THRONE”.
We also see that when Messiah was in the Human body as JESUS, He also gave the reference of Queen of Sheba. “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.” Matthew 12:42
Accompanied by camels bearing spices, gold, and precious stones, the Queen of Sheba and her entourage made the long journey to Jerusalem. After being greeted by the king’s general, Benayahu, she was directed to the king, who, according to one tradition, received her in a palace made of crystal. There is a debate about the location of the land of Sheba, with no clear conclusion. Some seem to identify it with Yemen, while others link it with Ethiopia.
